Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about eddi? Find clear, straightforward answers about our platform, pricing philosophy, data infrastructure, and features below.

What exactly is eddi?
eddi is a next-generation platform designed specifically for Australian schools. It unifies everything that a school needs into a single, cohesive ecosystem to drastically reduce administrative workload.
How does your pricing model work?
We offer transparent, all-inclusive software access for a flat rate of $25 AUD per student, per year. Every single platform feature is unlocked from day one. There are no premium modular tiers, no surprise scaling penalties, and no hidden deployment overheads.
Where is our school's data stored?
Data security and sovereignty are central to our architecture. Every school gets its own isolated, dedicated server instance hosted entirely within Australia, in a location as close to your school as possible to minimise latency. Your school's data is never co-mingled with another institution's database, establishing absolute data isolation.
Are schools locked into a multi-year contract?
Not at all. We firmly reject vendor lock-in and don't offer multi-year contracts, instead offering one fair price that's the same for everyone. You always retain complete, unconditional ownership of your data and can seamlessly download your full environment if you ever choose to move elsewhere.
What features are currently included in the core platform?
See our Features page for up-to-date information on the features that eddi offers. If there's anything missing that your school needs, we'll build it free of charge so that other schools who might need it will benefit too.
How does eddi handle automated timetabling?
Scheduled for our v0.2 release, eddi features an advanced timetabling generator designed to handle complex structural constraints, calendar syncing, automated subject selection pipelines, and staff room allocation parameters natively. We utilise the open source project FET (Free Education Timetabling) under-the-hood to provide much of this functionality.
Is there a mobile app for parents and teachers?
eddi is currently engineered as a modern, ultra-responsive web application that works on any computer or phone. We have plans to introduce native iOS and Android apps in the near future.
How complex is the migration process from our old software?
We oversee the entire transition phase directly to minimise friction. Because eddi uses standardised data parsing techniques, migrating student records, attendance histories, and staff directories from legacy platforms is straightforward and entirely free from arbitrary implementation fees.
Can our school suggest or request custom features?
Absolutely. Our product roadmap is deeply cooperative and driven by active school administrators and teachers. Because we maintain tight, agile software engineering parameters, we can integrate user feedback and deploy stable platform enhancements directly to your instances incredibly fast.
